Community and Messaging Rules
Version 2026-09-03 · In force from 3 September 2026
On Aura everybody is talking to a real person. This page says how people behave here and what you can do when something goes wrong. It is short on purpose: rules you have to memorise are rules nobody follows.
1. Who can be here
- You must be 18 or over. Age is checked both in the app and on the server. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18 we close it and delete the data.
- You must be yourself. The photographs on your profile have to be of you. Someone else's picture, a celebrity, or an AI-generated face is grounds for closing the account.
- One account per person. Running several, or opening a new one to replace a closed one, is against the rules.
2. Photographs
Every photograph is screened automatically before it goes live, and anything doubtful is looked at by a person.
- Show your face. Your first photograph has to show you recognisably.
- No nudity or sexual content.
- No photographs containing children — including your own.
- No violence, weapons, drugs or hate symbols.
- No contact details, advertising, or pointers to another platform.
3. Messaging
A match is permission to talk. It is not permission for anything else.
- No harassment, threats or insults. That includes writing again and again to someone who has not answered.
- No unsolicited sexual messages or images. If the other person says they are not interested, the subject is closed.
- No hate speech — about race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or age.
- No spam, advertising, invite links or asking for money. Investment, crypto and "urgent help" messages are fraud. Do not send anybody money.
- Do not share anybody else's private information. Publishing a screenshot or a photograph from a conversation somewhere else is against the rules.
4. What you can do
- Report the message. In the conversation, press and hold the message and choose Report. The report reaches us with the message itself attached.
- Block the person. From their profile, or from the menu at the top of the conversation. Somebody you block cannot see you or write to you again, and the match ends.
- In an emergency, go to the authorities first. If there is a threat to life, call your local emergency number. We are not a safety service.
We never tell the person you reported who reported them.
5. What we do
Every report is reviewed by a person. Depending on what we find:
- the photograph is taken down,
- a warning is issued,
- the account is suspended,
- the account is closed permanently.
In serious cases — anything suggesting a minor, or a concrete threat of violence — we close the account immediately and report it to the authorities where required.
6. Looking after yourself
- Meet for the first time in a public place, and tell somebody you trust where you will be.
- Do not share your home address, your workplace or your financial details with someone you have just met.
- Never send money, whatever the story is.
- If something feels wrong you do not owe anybody a conversation. Leave it. No explanation is required.
7. Appeals
If you think an action taken on your account was wrong, write to support@auramatchapp.com. We will look at the decision again and answer you.
8. Changes
When we update this text the version at the top changes. What it is for does not: everybody here is talking to a real person, and nobody has to stay in a conversation they do not want.
